Rolf Imbach wurde 1943 in Basel geboren,wo er später auch die Kunstgewerbeschule besuchte.
Darauf folgten intensive Arbeitsjahre als Grafiker/Illustrator und Art Director in Mailand,Basel,Stockholm und Zürich. Seit 1978 hat Rolf Imbach sein eigenes Atelier in Solothurn.

Sein Schaffen hat zwei Schwerpunkte:

Bilderbücher
Seine Bilderbücher erzählen oft bunte Geschichten, in denen Bild und Text phantastische Elemente mit konkreten Orten verbinden.Die Illustrationen sind farbenfroh und fantasievoll.

Beispiele seiner Werke sind:
- "Die Trollinsel", Erinnerung an seinen Aufenthalt in Schweden.
- "Der Vogel Waikiki",der eigens von Hawaii geflogen kommt,um die Solothurner Fasnacht zu erleben.
- "Das andere Ende der Welt", Leenas Reise mit dem Grossvater nach Hawaii.
- "Sauxa Fei",der geheimnisvolle Ort Saas-Fee
- "Grims",der kleine Bergkristall entdeckt das Grimselgebiet.

Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt im Werk von Imbach bilden soziale Themen wie beispielsweise der Umgang mit einer Behinderung oder Gewaltprävention.
- "Ich bin Julia und Du?",das Leben mit einer cerebralen Bewegungsstörung.
- "Nic lernt fliegen",schulische Integration von Kindern mit Behinderung.
- "Die Vogelbande", gegen Mobbing und Gewalt unter Kindern.

Die Bilderbücher von Rolf Imbach sind oft auch Bestandteil von Kommunikationsprojekten wie jenes für den Schweizerischen Fussballverband. "Laura und ihre Freunde träumen vom grossen Spiel",das die besonderen Regeln des Kinderfussballs veranschaulicht

Kunstschaffen
Seine Bilder und Lithografien sind regelmässig in Einzel-und Gruppenausstellungen zu sehen.

Rolf Imbach ist verheiratet und Vater von zwei erwachsenen Kindern. Er lebt und arbeitet in Solothurn und an der Côte d'Azur.

Rolf Imbach was born in 1943 in Basel (Switzerland), where he later attended the School for Applied Arts.
Thereupon followed intensive years of work as a graphic designer, illustrator and art director in Italy (Milan), Sweden (Stockholm) and Switzerland (Basel and Zurich). Rolf Imbach has his own studio in Solothurn (Switzerland) since 1978.

His work focuses on two main issues:

Children's Books
Rolf Imbach's children's books tell colorful stories. He combines images and text with fantasy and actual places. His images are very colorful and highly imaginative.

- "Der Vogel Waikiki", the tale of the bird, who specially flies from Hawaii (USA) to the Carnival in Solothurn (Switzerland)

- "Sauxa Fei", the mysterious place Saas Fee (Swiss Alps)
- "Grims", a little rock crystal discovers the Grimsel region (Swiss Alps)

A particular emphasis in Rolf Imbach's books is on social topics such as dealing with handicaps or preventing violence among children.
- "Ich bin Julia und Du?", a story of a girl's life with cerebral dysfunction
- "Nic lernt fliegen", a book of school integration of handicapped children

Rolf Imbach's children's books are part of communication projects as well. Such as the communication project, which Rolf Imbach realized for the Swiss Football Association. "Laura und ihre Freunde träumen vom grossen Spiel". This children's book particularly helps kids and their parents to understand the special rules of kid's football.

Rolf Imbach is married with two adult children. He lives and works in Solothurn (Switzerland) and at the Côte d'Azur (France).
